The luggage compartment of the BMW iX3 offers a generous capacity of 520 litres, or up to 1,750 litres with the rear seat folded down. There is also 58 litres of additional space beneath the hood, where the charging cable can be securely stored and easily accessed.

Frequently Asked Questions.

Is the iX3 suited to winter and the mountain roads of the Laurentides?

Absolutely. The iX3 comes standard with BMW's intelligent xDrive all-wheel drive, which distributes power between the front and rear axles based on traction and driving conditions. Whether on snow, ice, or the gravel roads that lead up to the cottage, it maintains optimal traction and excellent stability, even on uneven terrain.

With the long distances in the region, will I have to charge often?

Rarely. With an estimated range of 698 km on a full charge, the iX3 easily handles round trips to Montreal, the ski resorts, or more remote villages without charging along the way. And when it's time to plug in, its maximum charging power of 400 kW takes you from 10 to 80% in about 21 minutes at a fast-charging station.

Does Quebec's cold significantly reduce the range?

Like any electric vehicle, the iX3's range varies in cold temperatures, but it's designed to limit that effect. Its sixth-generation 800-volt battery preconditions itself automatically when you set a charging station as your destination, optimizing both range and charging speed, even in extreme cold.

Can I use it to carry outdoor gear and tow a trailer?

Yes. The trunk offers 520 litres, expandable to 1,750 litres with the rear seats folded down in a 40:20:40 configuration — perfect for skis, bikes, or camping equipment. An additional 58 litres of space under the front hood stores the charging cable. With the optional tow hitch, the iX3 can also tow up to 2,000 kg.
